Father's Day

I made a quick Father's Day card for FIL today. I was surprised how well it turned out. Unfortunately I forgot to take a photo of it.

I'm rather partial to the sound of Star Sailor so decided to order the CD from Amazon as I can't get it in the shops at the mo. Here's a link to one of their songs.

The British F1 Grand Prix is on the tv, so I am keeping well out of the way - it bores me to tears! I've decided to do a proper roast dinner, so I guess I'd better get cracking!

Busy, Busy, Busy

Where has the week gone? It's been a bit of a busy one for me.

On Tuesday we said goodbye to our friend Foxy, who died of cancer. The sun shone and the birds sang at the very well attended funeral.

On Wednesday hubby and I set of for Cardiff. What should have taken 4 hours took a massive 7 hours due to a fire at a chemical factory in Hereford. We stayed at the Hilton and went to see the Take That gig, supported by James Morrison.

Thursday I got a little retail therapy - well a 50% off Clarks shoe sale is too good to miss! We had a meal with Philip & Vicki at Bracelet Bay, which I think is in or by Mumbles.

Friday was sorting out deliveries of stock and then going to Bodedern to the Anglesey Federation Annual Show. Our WI did fantastically well by gaining a first for the co-operative class titled "The Wedding".
Which takes me to today - housework, sorting stock and chillin! Incidentally, the diet has gone out of the window, but I aim to get back on track!

Diet Update

It's the end of the second week, so time to jump on those scales - not literally for obvious reasons. This week I have lost 2lbs taking my total to 5lbs for the fortnight.

Usually in the early weeks of a diet I shift a lot more weight than this, but this time I'm taking a more gentle course of action and still having some treats which perhaps is a mroe realistic way of living and keeping the weight off - time will tell.

Hamster Des-Res

Following the recent adoption of a hamster, yesterday I decided that he needed a bigger cage - he now has a two-storey des-res.

He seems pretty cool with his new home and quickly decided that he didn't want his bedding in the bedroom by pulling it through to the other bit of the cage and using the bedroon as an "en-suite"!

Mmmm - Magazine has arrived

The only magazine I sub to is Scrapbook Creations - it's quite expensive as it comes from Australia, but well worth it. The latest copy arrived this week and it is another stunning issue.

I love the format of the mag as there is minimal advertising and printed on decent paper. It's not un-common for just one layout to be on a page. It has a plain white background so the layouts don't fight with the background colour, which I find so many of the UK mags do.

The layouts submitted often have a bright, vibrant and clean look to them, which appeals to me - perhaps it is a reflection of their sunny climate. What ever it is, I love it and can't wait to sit down and study the mag.

Having a laugh!

We went to Llandudno last night to see Jimmy Carr doing stand-up at Venue Cymru. I couldn't believe how quick he was and have no idea how many gags he told but there were loads of them in machine gun style. When it came to the heckling he soon put them in their place! I'd certainly go and see him again.

Diet Update

Well it is the end of the first week of my diet. It hasn't been a particular good start - I lost my way for a couple of days but I have lost 3lbs. The Wii Active Personal Trainer has arrived. I've not been able to give it a try as the Wii is still not connected to the new tv. Fingers crossed for a decent weight loss next week.
